Vision: We envision a world where every individual’s fundamental rights and freedoms are universally respected, protected, and fulfilled. This includes striving for equality, justice, and dignity for all, regardless of race, gender, nationality, or socioeconomic status. By advocating for and defending human rights, we aims to eradicate discrimination, prevent abuses, and empower people to live in freedom and peace.
Our mission iOur mission is to advocate for and protect the fundamental rights and freedoms of all individuals, particularly the most vulnerable and marginalized. This involves raising awareness, providing legal and humanitarian support, conducting research, and influencing policy to prevent and address human rights violations. The organization is dedicated to promoting justice, equality, and ensuring that Human Rights Defenders are able to continue defending the rights of others peacefully and without being subjected to any restrictions or prosecution.

In providing protection and support to human rights defenders, civil society activists, humanitarian and NGO workers, we are committed to the following values:
- Humanitarian and Human Rights: We believe in the provision of humanitarian assistance and access to the most vulnerable people wherever it is needed and in respecting and promoting human rights in peaceful and non-violent means.
- Professionalism:Our staff are highly trained and professional in carrying and implementing projects with high standards in close collaboration with the international and local experts.
- Impartiality and Independence: Provide aid without bias, regardless of political, religious, or ethnic affiliations. This neutrality is essential for gaining access to vulnerable populations and delivering assistance impartially and effectively, ensuring that the needs of all individuals are met without discrimination.
- Inclusion: We believe in actively engaging our constituents in diverse communities, considering their unique perspectives and addressing barriers to access. We ensure that aid is not only equitable but also culturally sensitive, responsive to specific needs, and supportive of the social integration of marginalized groups to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of our interventions, ultimately contributing to a more just and resilient communities.

- Empowerment: Empowerment of our constituents involves enabling individuals and groups to take control of their own recovery and development. By providing resources, skills, and opportunities for participation, help them build resilience, and become self-reliant. This approach fosters a sense of ownership and agency, ensuring that our efforts are sustainable and aligned with the true needs and priorities of the people we serve.
- Respect: Respect is fundamental to our work in building trust and upholding the dignity and rights of all individuals affected by crises. This involves acknowledging and valuing the diverse cultures, beliefs, and experiences of communities, and ensuring that aid/ support is delivered in a manner that honors their autonomy and humanity. We believe in building trust to foster positive relationships that is essential for effective and compassionate assistance.
- Do no harm: We believe in Do No Harm principles and emphasize the importance of avoiding unintended negative consequences of our humanitarian interventions. Through this principle, we ensures that assistance efforts do not exacerbate existing conflicts, inequalities, or vulnerabilities within the affected communities. By carefully assessing the potential impacts of our actions, we supports recovery and resilience without causing further harm or destabilization.
- Transparency and accountability: Transparency and accountability is laying at the core of our work and is critical for building trust between us and the communities/ individuals we serve. SMRO’s overall objectives are to ensure that:
- Protecting Human Rights: Safeguard the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals, particularly those who are vulnerable or marginalized.
- Advocacy and Awareness: Raise public awareness about human rights issues and advocate for policies and legislation that promote and protect human rights.
- Providing Support: Offer legal assistance, humanitarian aid, and other support services to the victims of human rights abuses.
- Promoting Equality and Justice: Work towards eliminating discrimination and ensuring equal treatment and justice for all individuals, regardless of their background.
- Empowering Communities: Strengthen the capacity of our constituents to advocate for their own rights and participate fully in decision making.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct research, monitor human rights conditions, and report on violations to hold perpetrators accountable.
- Education and Training: Educate the public, policymakers, and other stakeholders about human rights principles and practices to foster a culture of respect and compliance.
- Building Alliances: Collaborate with other organizations, governments, and international bodies to enhance the impact and reach of human rights initiatives.
In support of these objectives, SRMO will carry out the following activities:*
- Legal Advocacy and Assistance:
– Provide legal representation and advice to victims of human rights abuses.
– Advocate for legislative and policy reforms that strengthen human rights protections. - Awareness Campaigns:
– Launch public awareness campaigns to educate the public about human rights issues.
– Use media, social media, and public events to highlight human rights violations and successes. - Research and Reporting:
– Conduct thorough research and documentation of human rights conditions and violations.
– Publish reports, articles, and papers to inform the public and policymakers about human rights issues. - Capacity Building:
– Offer training and workshops to empower individuals and communities to understand and advocate for their rights.
– Develop educational programs for schools, universities, and community groups. - Humanitarian Aid:
– Provide direct assistance, such as shelter, food, medical care, and psychological support, to those affected by human rights abuses.
– Establish support centers and hotlines for immediate help and guidance. - Monitoring and Evaluation:
